PrimaLuna – Tube Amplifiers Combining Classic Sound with Modern Engineering

PrimaLuna is a Dutch high-end audio brand dedicated to designing premium tube amplifiers that combine the musical character of valve technology with the reliability of modern engineering. Founded by Herman van den Dungen, PrimaLuna was created to eliminate the complexity traditionally associated with tube amplifiers while preserving their warmth, dynamics, and natural sound.

The company's signature innovation is Adaptive AutoBias™, an intelligent bias management system that continuously monitors and automatically adjusts each output tube for optimum performance. Unlike conventional manual bias adjustment, Adaptive AutoBias requires virtually no maintenance, extends tube life, reduces distortion, and allows users to change compatible tube types with exceptional ease.

PrimaLuna amplifiers also feature technologies such as Soft-start™ for gentle power-up, Bad Tube Indication™ (BTI™) to identify failing tubes, and Output Transformer Protection™ (OTP™) to safeguard one of the amplifier's most critical components. Combined with oversized toroidal transformers, hand-wired construction, and carefully selected components, these technologies deliver exceptional reliability and long-term performance.

Today, PrimaLuna products are recognised worldwide for offering the emotional involvement of classic tube amplification without the traditional maintenance challenges. The brand has earned a reputation as one of the leading names in modern valve amplification by combining timeless musicality with innovative engineering.
