SVS PB-5000 R|Evolution is a high-performance ported subwoofer engineered for demanding home theater and Hi-Fi systems. It combines an all-new 15-inch high-excursion driver, three high-flow bass-reflex ports and a STA-2000D dual-monoblock Class D amplifier rated at 2,000 watts continuous and 5,000+ watts peak.

Three tuning modes allow the PB-5000 R|Evolution to deliver different levels of low-frequency extension and bandwidth. Standard Mode provides a frequency response of 15Hz to 180Hz ±3dB, Extended Mode reaches 13Hz to 180Hz ±3dB, while Sealed Mode provides 16Hz to 270Hz ±3dB. A 295MHz Analog Devices DSP, SVS Auto EQ and the SVS Subwoofer Control App provide extensive system optimization.

High-Excursion 15-inch SVS Driver

PB-5000 R|Evolution features an all-new proprietary 15-inch high-excursion driver. Its lightweight and rigid glass fiber composite cone provides an optimal stiffness-to-mass ratio for high efficiency and acoustic linearity.

A two-piece toroidal ferrite electromagnetic motor generates massive force with precise control, while the extreme-excursion catenary SBR surround maintains controlled long-throw pistonic driver motion.

Dual 6-Layer Voice Coils

Precision-engineered dual 6-layer bifilar edge-wound voice coils transfer power from the dual-monoblock amplifier to the driver motor with high thermal efficiency. Flat edge-wound aluminum voice-coil wire maximizes conductor density, magnetic field strength and thermal capacity.

Each monoblock amplifier drives one of the two voice coils, providing precise driver control while maximizing the power delivered to the motor.

STA-2000D Dual-Monoblock Amplifier

The STA-2000D amplifier is rated at 2,000 watts continuous and 5,000+ watts peak. Fully discrete MOSFET transistors combine the efficiency of Class D amplification with high-current output capability.

Each monoblock amplifier drives one of the dual voice coils. Eight 60 Amp, 200 Volt MOSFET transistors provide the high-current capability required for powerful and precisely controlled output.

Triple High-Flow Ports and Three Tuning Modes

A defining feature of PB-5000 R|Evolution is its three 3.5-inch high-flow ports. The port system is engineered to move massive amounts of air while minimizing turbulence and port noise during demanding low-frequency playback.

Different port configurations combined with the corresponding DSP settings provide three tuning options. Standard Mode delivers 15Hz to 180Hz ±3dB, Extended Mode reaches 13Hz to 180Hz ±3dB, and Sealed Mode provides a frequency response of 16Hz to 270Hz ±3dB.

Performance-Enhancing Power Supply

An advanced switch-mode power supply incorporates AC line conditioning to filter and stabilize incoming voltage, correct waveform distortions and reduce electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.

Power-Factor-Correction (PFC) time-aligns AC voltage and current, resulting in less heat, greater efficiency and reliable power output over a wide range of operating voltages.

295MHz Analog Devices DSP

A sophisticated 295MHz Analog Devices DSP orchestrates the amplifier, motor and driver ecosystem. It accurately shapes frequency response and monitors amplifier operation while helping maintain maximum output and efficiency.

Advanced digital audio processing and DACs with a 120 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio provide greater headroom, lower noise and pristine fidelity.

SVS Auto EQ Room Calibration

SVS Auto EQ analyzes the listening environment and optimizes subwoofer output for the specific room. Calibration is performed through the SVS Subwoofer Control App using a smartphone's internal microphone or the optional external SVS Auto EQ microphone.

The system can optimize performance across multiple listening positions and correct frequency-response irregularities caused by room acoustics.

SVS Subwoofer Control App

The SVS Subwoofer Control App provides comprehensive Bluetooth control from compatible mobile devices. It offers adjustment of volume, low-pass filter, phase, polarity, six parametric equalizers, room gain compensation, tuning modes, power management settings and more.

Three convenient memory presets allow quick system adjustments for different listening preferences, such as music, movies or night mode. A rear-panel OLED display and control interface also provide direct access to important functions.

Rigidly Braced MDF Cabinet

The PB-5000 R|Evolution cabinet is constructed from MDF with extensive internal bracing to maintain structural rigidity under the extreme forces generated by the 15-inch driver. A double-thick 2-inch front baffle provides a solid foundation for the massive driver.

Internal acoustic insulation minimizes cabinet coloration and resonance, while screw-in iso-elastomer feet reduce unwanted vibration transfer to the floor.

Low-Frequency Extension Down to 13Hz

PB-5000 R|Evolution allows its performance to be tailored to the system, room and listening preferences. In Extended Mode, low-frequency response reaches an exceptional 13Hz ±3dB, providing deep extension for demanding home theater effects and high-impact music playback.
