PYLON Audio Opal 23 mkII floorstanding speakers
Pylon Audio Opal 23 mkII is a 2.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker featuring two PSW 18.8 CP mid-woofers and the new PST 30.4-TGN tweeter with a graphene-reinforced textile dome. Upgraded crossover components, redesigned drivers and a retuned bass-reflex system deliver deeper, better-controlled bass with improved detail, dynamics and spaciousness.
Pylon Audio Opal 23 mkII Floorstanding Loudspeakers
Pylon Audio Opal 23 mkII builds on the proven concept of the first-generation Opal 23 while introducing new drivers, higher-grade crossover components and a refined cabinet. The established midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer configuration has been retained, but in the mkII generation it operates with greater precision, performs better at longer listening distances and fills larger rooms more effectively.
The Opal 23 mkII combines two Pylon Audio PSW 18.8 CP mid-woofers with the new PST 30.4-TGN tweeter featuring a graphene-reinforced textile dome. An upgraded crossover, retuned bass-reflex system and carefully refined MDF cabinet form the technical foundation of the second-generation design.

Proven Design, New Technology
For the second generation, Pylon Audio retained the proven midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer configuration. In the mkII version, the system operates with greater precision, performs better when listening from a greater distance and fills larger rooms with sound more effectively than the previous generation.
The crossover architecture remains close to the first generation but uses higher-grade components. Air-core coils are used, including in the mid-bass section, for high linearity and lower distortion, together with a high-quality capacitor in the tweeter path.
New PSW 18.8 CP Mid-Woofers
The new Pylon Audio PSW 18.8 CP mid-bass drivers are at the heart of the changes. Their cones remain cellulose, but are now thicker, stiffer, heavier and more durable, contributing to a cleaner and more natural midrange.
The decay time of the cone's own vibrations has also been shortened, allowing the driver to respond faster to the signal and handle more power without losing control. The slightly heavier cone lowers the resonant frequency and extends the response towards the lowest frequencies.
More Powerful Magnetic System and Retuned Bass-Reflex
To preserve sensitivity and dynamics, Pylon Audio developed a significantly more powerful magnetic system than in the first generation. The stamped-steel basket has been replaced by a precisely moulded plastic basket that guides the moving assembly more stably and allows greater cone excursion.
Together with the retuned bass-reflex system, these changes provide deeper, stronger and better-controlled bass than the previous generation.
PST 30.4-TGN Tweeter
The new PST 30.4-TGN tweeter is one of the most important elements of the Opal 23 mkII. It features a graphene-reinforced textile dome, a lightweight CCAW voice coil and a Faraday ring designed to reduce distortion.
The diaphragm area has been increased by fifty percent compared with the first generation, allowing the tweeter to operate freely with the more powerful mid-bass drivers. It is integrated into the front baffle, where it works with a shallow profile formed directly into the baffle to improve coherence and reduce edge reflections.
A vented chamber and a heatsink inspired by professional drivers allow the tweeter to operate cleanly even at high volume levels without compression or limiting dynamics.
A Cabinet Refined in Every Detail
The slender cabinet is constructed from 18 mm MDF with a 22 mm front baffle. Internal bracing is positioned at key points, while carefully selected damping filling helps reduce resonances.
The cabinet was refined using measurements taken in Pylon Audio's anechoic chamber with a laser vibrometer. Reduced cabinet vibration contributes to cleaner reproduction and improved detail resolution.
