Atlas Mavros Ultra RCA S/PDIF Digital Interconnect

Atlas Mavros Ultra RCA S/PDIF is a wide-bandwidth S/PDIF cable designed to be measurably and audibly superior without the typical noise-related 'glare' frequently found in inferior cables.

The Atlas design team has created a cable with extremely precise transmission and termination standards, recommended for use whenever signal integrity is paramount, for example between a CD transport or hi-res streamer and DAC.

The central conductor comprises strands of high-purity OCC copper with a thin dielectric layer of microporous PTFE, which behaves almost like the theoretically perfect insulator – free air – with minimal effect upon the signal being transmitted.

OCC Copper and Microporous PTFE

The central conductor comprises strands of high-purity OCC copper with a thin dielectric layer of microporous PTFE.

This dielectric behaves almost like the theoretically perfect insulator – free air – with minimal effect upon the signal being transmitted.

Double Shielding Against RFI

To protect against the harmful effects of RFI, coaxial double shielding layers combine an aluminium foil and an OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) braid.

A damped cotton yarn layer with a PVC jacket then protects the complete cable construction.

Precise Digital Signal Transmission

With a termination impedance of almost exactly 75 Ohms at 1 MHz and a low conductor-to-conductor capacitance of around 50 pF per metre, the Mavros digital interconnect precisely matches the consumer digital audio specification to ensure error-free transmission of high-speed wideband signals.

Atlas states that the benefit of this strict attention to detail is evident in the timing and dynamic range of musical performances, where the temporal 'smearing' associated with lesser cables is notably absent.
